Is it worth repairing an opener or should I replace it?
Eyes and settings are quick fixes and we do them in place. The inside of an opener is different: once it breaks, a new gear or board in it usually doesn't hold and usually isn't cheaper than a new unit. So a dead opener gets a new one off the truck, same visit.
My opener works but the wall button and remote don't — why?
Usually a programming issue or a safety-sensor lockout that's disabling the controls, and both get sorted on the spot. If the opener's own controls have died, that's a new opener, and it rides on the truck.
